Discovery and Coordination - Workshops
The first major activity of the DASPOS project is one of discovery, coordination, outreach, and mutual education. These activities will be driven by a series of workshops to address the major questions in data preservation. To ensure concrete outputs and a meaningful impact on the community, each workshop will be focused on producing a document that addresses a specific need related to data preservation. Active follow-up with small meetings of interested people will be crucial to reach consensus on how to proceed.
DASPOS will hold three workshops per year, starting with fairly broad topics, then proceeding to more narrow technical issues. We have identified specific topics for each workshop in the first two years, then will reserve the final three workshops for issues that develop over the course of the project.
